Farm fresh apples that are too small, too big, or wonky in shape compared to ideal market standards are often tossed for aesthetic reasons alone. We've partnered with Reyes Farms in Niagara, Ontario to ensure their fresh wonky apples are enjoyed rather than unnecessarily wasted!
Aquafaba (AKA chickpea water) is a fantastic vegan egg replacement and a natural bi-product of canned and soaked chickpeas! We've partnered with local meal kit delivery service Crisper Kits to rescue the aquafaba they'd otherwise toss.
Rescued Ripe Bananas
We source organic, naturally sweet bananas from local retailers and suppliers. Often, the bananas we get are perfectly yellow with minimal brown spots! Unfortunately, these bananas are already too ripe for suppliers and would normally be tossed or discounted, as by the time they'd hit the shelves they'd be overripe!
Roasted Cacao Powder
Deliciously rich, organic freshly roasted cacao powder is a dark chocolate-lovers dream! Blended from ethical ecological and fine aroma cacao produced in indigenous forest gardens of the Americas. Processed in Toronto from scratch, using only simple, whole-food ingredients. All ChocoSol Traders products are free of nuts, dairy, soy, gluten, and preservatives.
We use ChocoSol's organic Vanilla Sea Salt chocolate in our Salted Choco-Pearamel Cookies for a decadent chocolate chunk experience. Their bean to bar stone ground artisanal dark chocolate is hand made in Toronto from scratch using only simple, whole food ingredients. All bars are free of nuts, dairy, soy, gluten and preservatives.
We use organic unsweetened coconut for its creamy, full flavour and chewy texture. Klassic Coconut is certified Ecocert, USDA organic, SQF, halal, and kosher. It is high in minerals like selenium, fiber, copper and manganese, as well as rich in fiber, healthy fats and MCTs. Coconut offers a number of benefits, including improved heart health and digestion.
We love using organic coconut sugar as a less refined alternative to white sugar, featuring a slightly lower glycemic index. This natural sugar is made from coconut palm sap, which is the sugary circulating fluid of the coconut plant. Our source is certified Ecocert + USDA organic.
Rescued Juice Pulp
We rescue organic juice pulp from a local juicery in Toronto. Despite its high-fibre content, this fresh nutrient-dense byproduct of cold-pressed juice is often wasted simply due to a lack of infrastructure and demand. We utilize it as a base for our line of Pulp Crunch granolas.
We use organic pure Canada grade A (amber) Quebec maple syrup as a natural sweetener! This maple syrup is vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, certified Kosher and it doesn’t contain any additives.

Imperfect Pumpkin Seeds
We source Ontario-grown organic, imperfect kakai pumpkin seeds from Skuta. These seeds are nutrient dense, and are a great source of protein, magnesium, potassium, and antioxidants. Their imperfect status comes from being slightly chipped or broken in nature.
We use organic sunflower seeds in our products! Sunflower seeds are very high in vitamin E, phosphorus, magnesium, selenium, and other antioxidants. They have plenty of dietary fiber that slows down the nutrient absorption from food and prevents sugar spikes after a meal.
Sunflower Seed Butter
We use organic sunflower butter as a creamy, protein rich oil alternative for our Salted Choco-Pearamel cookies. Nuts To You Sunflower Seed Butter is certified organic by Centre for Systems Integration. It is kosher, non-GMO and dairy, wheat, soy and gluten free, with no added salt, sugar or hydrogenated oil. Made in Canada from two ingredients: dry-roasted organic sunflower seeds and organic sunflower oil.
